Our SimAngus herd is the largest of the three programs and the backbone of the operation — built on proven foundation genetics and refined, year over year, into a herd with a look and a reputation of its own. What sets it apart most isn't any single mating. It's intentionality: we stay locked on the breeding program, and we don't let anything distract us from that pursuit.
Every cow is AI'd once, and every cleanup bull that follows is one of our own home-raised bulls — bulls whose sires are proven, whose development we watched every day, and whose mothers are right here where we can walk you out to see them.
The result is cattle that fit real farms in real hill country: big-ribbed, broody, sound females with good udders that breed back on time every year, and bulls that sire the same.

Not a random cross — a deliberate maternal design. We stack Summitt, Tesla and Ripper — and the proven cow families behind them — into one pedigree. Summitt brings maternal depth, base width, muscle, udder quality and easy fleshing. Tesla contributes length, rib and capacity, with performance and udder quality to match. Ripper stamps muscle, soundness, breed character and predictability — and leaves extremely feminine daughters. The result is a distinctive genetic package built to make cows that are feminine, productive, and work for the long haul.

Tesla is the cornerstone of our SimAngus program — we would love a shot of Tesla in every pedigree on the place. We first saw him as a yearling in Canada and moved quickly to secure the U.S. semen rights alongside two partners. His sons are massive yet right-sized, loaded with performance, and built correctly; his daughters carry beautifully constructed udders and make wonderful mothers. The best cows on this farm have Tesla in the pedigree. Homozygous black, tremendous length, bold-ribbed — after years of use we still haven't found the fault. Semen available.
Summitt stacks what we believe is the best of the American Angus breed into one animal — Coleman Donna 714 on the bottom side and SAV Blackcap May 4136 on the top. It is an injection of maternal greatness. His daughters are moderate, easy-fleshing and broody with excellent udders; his sons are masculine, wide-based, structurally correct and packed with muscle. He clicks exceptionally well on our Simmental-influenced cows. And if you've come for a visit, a standout Summitt son has probably caught your eye. We use Summitt — and several of his sons — every single year.
Ripper is a household name around here — Summitt's counterpart on the Canadian side, carrying what we believe are the best Canadian Black Angus genetics we have found. No animal we've used stamps progeny with a more recognizable type: moderate frame, plenty of muscle, and structural soundness, mating after mating. His sons are masculine, his daughters extremely feminine, and we reach deeper into this influential Canadian program every year. Ripper is the sire of GVR Slate 18J and RVFI Prototype 302L below.
Carbon is the next-generation bull from the same program that gave the industry Ripper. He stamps calves in a similar pattern with a touch more frame, and his daughters are incredibly feminine and productive. Some of the most impressive calves on the place right now are Carbons — we believe he will quickly prove himself the next headline sire in our SimAngus program.
Rascal is our resident SimAngus heifer bull, proven reliable on heifers season after season. He sires moderate-framed calves with his sire's type plus that extra bit of grunt. His dam, Teter G925, is our favorite 2019-model cow at RVF — the same cow that produced RVFI Fortress 339L. She has given us nothing but sons, and every one has either been retained here or topped our bull sales. Masculine and territorial, a true beef bull — and the sire of RVFI Warpath 508N. Capstone stacks Summitt over Tesla in a single package — a Summitt son out of Mistress J112, one of the top-producing Tesla females at RVF. This is exactly the kind of pedigree the program is built around.
Tenacity was retained as a heifer bull out of a top-producing cow whose pedigree runs a little different from most of our herd — a combination with Summitt we like a lot. Extremely masculine from an early age, he acted like a bull long before weaning. He covered heifers in 2026, and we're excited to see the first calves hit the ground.
Fortress is our leading Tesla son — and a maternal brother to Rascal, both out of the proven G925 cow. Several full brothers have topped our bull sales to astute customers. His daughters are outstanding, and Fortress himself is masculine with unmistakable presence. A cornerstone of the program. Semen available.
